[New Music] HUGH – I Can’t Figure You Out

Hugh is another project that Joshua Idehen of Benin City & LV is involved in, to say this man is prolific would be an understatement.

Idehen acts as song writer and vocalist while Andy Highmore is the keyboard playing producer with Martin Kolarides on guitar and Izzy Brooks on singing duties. This new EP, available for public stream this week, is strong. I was not a fan of the early releases but I am immediately hooked from first play with this one. The songs are sparse and ethereal, Brooks’ voice is sweet and has a bit of the Jessie Ware quality and is best encouraged by Idehen in ‘I Can’t Figure You Out’  and ‘I Can Be Your Light’
